Hardly anyone in China has a clothes dryer so everyone hangs their clothes out all year around. In fact I have never seen a clothes dryer here yet that wasn't hung from a pole. People also hang clothes anywhere, even in the middle of a public sidewalk like here.
Would have been nice to be at a different angle where the sky didn't overpower the whole shot but couldn't help it, pretty much any way angle since I was aiming the lens up, thats just how it way.
i really like the perspective here...something you don't see very often with journalistic shots. you really combined aestetics and information perfectly. great shot!
I like the angle, but I see what you mean about the sky. The contrast in the foreground is still sweet and fills most of the picture so I don't really think it matters much. People in the west would never hang their clothes in the street....shame they are so image conscience.
