Today I visited an old Chinese city called Zhong San, or Middle Mountain. Its a neat old town on the side of a river that has been largely untouched by modernized things. In the city people do this much as they did a few hundred years ago, and its a very charming little place.

I was wandering around the single street in the town, which is more like a corridor with many wooden doors, and I happened to see this interesting photo op.

This old women is making "death gold", little paper cup like things with gold colored paper inside to send to your dead relative in the afterlife so they can live well there. This is similar to the paper money Chinese burn for their dead. There was a massive pile of hundreds of these little gold cups, she must have been working for hours on end making them, I was quite impressed.

Also, this photo is a milestone for me as it is my 500th submission here, so enjoy it.

- Note about the Print -

There are 3 print sizes at the 1:25:1 ratio.
The largest size print has no size compression and is straight out of the camera size, so it lacks absolute sharpness but looks pretty good none the less, I printed a copy out for myself A4 size and it looks good.

Also......I lost the original file that had my chinese name file in a hard drive crash...so....yeah, I had to change it with a more rounded style, which still looks kinda neat I think.

Hmm, interesting.
Can't help but feel a bit sorry for her.. She looks enslaved, tired, unhappy!...

the chinese are very into the things they do, she may have a straight face not smiling but this is normal, chinese are very devoted to their dead and their customs.
