In The Distance

This guy stole the show. He was a very talented singer and dancer. With the live music of traditional Chinese insterments, he would do a sequence of spins and flips then stop and point into the distance like this then start singing at the top of his lungs. He always had such a distant look as if he was not on a stage but really out in the green fields of China. Next time they show particular Beijing opera I have to get my hands on a dv camera and record him.

He is the warrior in black, a passionate and dashing man who sings of honor and duty. Without a doubt, the centerpiece of the entire program. He comes out and does it one man show, is unbelievably entertaining then a bunch of warriors in blue and red attack him and he beats the snot out of all of them (more photos of that coming).

The hero is always been a part of Chinese legends. Beijing opera in particular the hero is often the one who is challenged with problems between love and duty.
