This is what I was thinking when I first layed eyes on this photo.
Beautifully captured, definitely makes my heartache from the sadness.

"What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset." -Crowfoot, Blackfoot warrior

Life is just waiting around for the next disaster. The only consolation is, one of these times it'll be fatal.
I've seen the same thing in london: a man, covered in dirtied paint-splattered clothes, traversing the streets by lifting his torso above the ground with his hands. Nobody even stops to look at him -- some for fear of him seeing them seeing him, some fear they'll somehow be taken down to his level, some just 'dont have the time', even in a world where people spend over 30,000 hours at work.
'You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men. You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden.Neither do you light a lamp, and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house. Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.' - Matthew 5:13 - 16
Strange, I'm not religious or accustomed to quoting scriptures, but these words seem compelling.
Great photo.
