An old style Chinese country house with many of the old style things still in it makes it a quaint little place to grow up in, even if they may dream of opportunities in the cities.

My mom's parents' house is still like that, but I love it cuz it's where I grew up hehe

this really reminds me of some of my family's homes back in Guangzhou! they live in one of the little villages where all the people sorta descend from the same ancestor, and that village is full of Zhous.

i miss going back there, the homes were perfect in so many ways even though there weren't all these technological-type things like in the homes we have here. it was great when it got hot, just running around on the hard, cool, stone floors.

ah, memories!
