In China, old people have three past times, and all of them involve the same thing, sitting around.

The first is sitting around with friends drinking tea and talking, the second is sitting around with friends gambling, the third is sitting around. People all around like to sit around and be lazy, but the old people usually like to do it in public where they are subject to nosey photographers and the sun.

Been shooting a lot of medium format black and white film lately, just sort of playing around while I try to aquatint myself more with the shooting style. Been using a TTL camera made by some unknown Chinese camera (used - $20) manufacturer named Eastar which is very similar to the Seagull TTL cameras produced here. Also been using a cheap brand of black and white film called Lucky which is the choice of photography students here because its cheap (a 120 roll costs 6 rmb or about 70 cents) but the negatives are very easily scratched...either way its good fun. I also noticed that in all of my photos there are areas of the photo that have a strange line pattern going on, this is the lens of the camera being funky and cheap.

Eastar 6x6 Medium Format TTL camera, 75mm f3.5 lens, Lucky black and white 100 film

Melancholic atmosphere, very good compositions and tones: I like it very much!

"Dude, am I gonna have a hang-over.... cos i hope so..."
yes! in chengdu, there were old people playing chinese paper card games, old people standin wiht sticks smiling at strange foreigners, and people of all ages chilling outside of their shop gambling and eating seeds and eating, and sitting and smoking too. is it like that all around china? i only know that chengdu is known for its leisure.

i listen by the door
Do you ask before shooting or do they look at you with evil eyes when they hear the shutter?

Nice shot, looks nice to sit there(with a cam). Did you ask before you shot or did she look at you with mean eyes when she heard the shutter? Lol

You and your goodness! Again here is that nack you have for capturing interesting things that none of us see. We probably would not have seen it even if we were in China fallowing you around. Lovely lovely...and with such a lousy camera and the like!!

Fresh with limitations (camera and film) - you've captured another classic.
This is my fave devArt pic of the last few months.
Some day I'll tell people I knew you.
Well, at least wrote comments on your shots.
