what are you talking about? Here in china birth control pills, morning after pills and that stuff is all over the counter. Abortion is legal and all that stuff about there not being any girls here is totaly wrong since there are MORE girls here then there are boys.

yes, but isn't there lobbies against "girls"? I saw this thing in portuguese television that was about chinese trying to restrain the girls "invasion". The most grotesque examples were shown.

hm...im not sure what this lobbies against girls thing is. All I can say is this place is swamped with girls. There are 5-6 boys in my class and over 20 girls...that says a lot to me.

Government isn't trying to promote boys. Murdering female babies are a result of the old traditional mind.
In a lot of countries, children only inherit father's last name. And to some areas, to have their famiily name passed down is a symbol of existance and power. Thus, they would prefer sons over daughters.

Since in china there's this one child policy (although I heard they are making changes to it), a lot of people in country side still have that old mind deeply rooted in for them, so they'd try everything to get a son. And the government don't allow gender-tests before birth to avoid people have abortion when they find out its a girl. And that result in girl baby killing/throwing away in some areas.

And actually, there's far more males than females in china right now. In cities, it's slightly more female than male, but overall, it's the other way around. And a lot of male in country side are having trouble getting a wife because of th is.
