Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Bye bye Konica Minolta

Naturaly the big news in the camera business right now is that Konica Minolta has pulled out of it. Yikes. I love KM cameras and lenses, they have very smooth color and tones. When I was shoping for my 20D I came within a stones throw of buying the 7D instead but since I already had some canon leses and bodies I decided to stick to them. Oh well.

Even if part of KM will now live on as part of Sony, I think what I will miss more is cameras like the Hexar's. Great rangefinders with Leica made lenses (Rokkor's) and great colaberations like the Leica Minolta CL and others. Good times.

Years ago I had a very cool 35mm SLR. It was a great quality camera with beautiful lens. Sad news indeed.

indeed, the KM 7D was a very very good camera, if it had a lens market like canon's EF or nikon's F i think it would have gone a lot further too
let's just hope Sony can keep the spirit of K and M and take care with the design and ergonomics (they were already producing the sensor anyway), that was the 7D's strong point imho

It's always a pitty to see "players" folding. But it's nice to know the DSLR lineup will live on. I just don't want there to ever be one, huge, dominating brand that you HAVE to buy. Neither Nikon or Canon. Monopolies bree laziness, that's all.
