Lazy
So the last month and a bit has been rather packed, the earthquake sure put everyone and everything off for some time so there was a lot of catching up to do. After dealing with earthquake stuff I went to Hong Kong with the girlfriend for her birthday and we had a fabulous time, Hong Kong is great, love it. Very expensive however, compared to mainland China prices I mean.
Also spent a few days in Yunnan dealing with some stuff there, then back to Chongqing to prepare my exhibition called "One and a half horses" comprised of a series of photos and a movie I made about Norwegian sculptor Ola Enstad. That went.....well....of course the exhibition hall was a disaster and everything went to hell when they tried to pack 25 people into 46 meters of wall space. Anyway as a sort of stupid party piece for my exhibition, because the school would not lend us the 20 some digital projectors they have sitting around the department being used to watch porn on the expansive classroom walls I took a little MP4 player thing I had here and put it into a picture frame and then stuck it to the wall, worked out quite well actually, made the whole exhibition more interesting to say the least.
Now I have for the most part graduated, my friend the teacher and myself have been sitting around starbucks lately, I think he is nuts for drinking black coffee with an espresso shot, which sure sounds great, but its 100+ bloody degrees here every day and that sucks. Not normally my thing, but because I hate the heat, I have been having these dark mocha frapachino things, sure, not the manliest beverage, but yeah, its hot here.
While we sit around there we discuss out plans to open a photo studio complete with lights, large format film camera, medium format studio camera, and whatever digital junk we decide to stick in there, which we dont care about because digital doesnt produce the effects we are looking for.
Anyway, back to work, I guess, top gear is coming back in some days, cant wait, the mid season end of battlestar galactica was awesome if you missed it, thats one of the best shows on TV for sure.
